Medanta is the largest multi-specialty hospital having accreditation by Joint Commission International (JCI) and both the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH) and the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL).

The 1,250 bedded hospital was established by Dr. Naresh Trehan in 2009 with the aim of providing better medical care at an affordable cost.

The hospital is spread over an area of 43 acres and includes 45 operation theatres (OT) and 350 beds for the intensive care unit (ICU) only. The hospital has more than 800 doctors, and 29 specialities.

The hospital has internationally acclaimed doctors and highly qualified staff. It has a floor dedicated to individual specialization in order to provide the best services under one roof.

Milestones accomplished by Medanta

• A team of doctors performed a successful bowel transplant in India, in the year 2013 under the leadership of Dr. A. S. Sawain.
• The hospital has transplanted the largest number of live donor liver transplants in India, and the second largest number of the same transplants in the world.
• The hospital maintains a world record for the largest number of total knee replacement surgeries in the least amount of time (in 30 days) and was awarded the 2013 WC Circle Award in Clinical Care in the Single Specialty Healthcare Unit category. The hospital was honoured with an award for the best multi-specialty hospital by HCG.

Facilities for International Patients at Medanta

• The hospital has an international help desk dedicated to meet all the needs of international patients starting from airport pick-up, currency exchange, visa assistance, translation, health insurance, and other services.
• An international (friend) executive is assigned to each patient, who assists the patient in carrying out all administrative operations such as admission to and discharge from the hospital. Foreign patients can book treatment packages before planning their travel. It provides the ease of an international lounge for the bed and the beds that provide all kinds of hospital support.
